How long have you been a member at Cave CrossFit?

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?

How long is your newsletter? CrossFit has changed me in many ways. I can emphatically say “I am in the best shape of my life!” One of the biggest game changers for me was the paleo challenge. I’ve always tried to eat well but it wasn’t until I ate exclusively paleo for 30 days straight that I noticed a difference. I went from 25% body fat to 13%. Although I haven’t remained 100% paleo, I usually stick to its tenants, and they have served me well.

What is your athletic background?

I love most sports, and I was as a high school athlete in football and track and field. I played Division 2 tennis in college. Now, I enjoy anything outdoors – mountain biking, surfing, skiing and golf. Last year, I competed in my first triathlon sprint and placed mid pack while being the oldest in my division.

Favorite WOD:

Anything with pull-ups or box jumps.

Favorite Lift/Movement:

Toes to bar.

Least Favorite WOD:

Don’t have one. They’re all hard.

Overhead squats!

What are your proudest achievements?

Having a happy, healthy family. Two of my three kids have done CrossFit for kids at the Cave which has been great to share with them.

Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?

More of the same! Health and longevity.

Any advice for someone thinking about trying CrossFit or someone who has just started?

Once begun, half done.
