How long have you been a member at Cave CrossFit?
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
CrossFit is like crack. Is it just me, or do other people make plans around The Cave schedule? Sorry friends…..I cannot meet up until AFTER 7pm. I’m going to the box at 6pm :-) I don’t think I ever felt that way about 24 Hour Fitness.
Crossfit has shown me that I am strong and capable of doing things that I didn’t even know that I wanted to do. It also feels good to see that you’ve made the spotlight for the day….Even when your name is spelled wrong. It’s proof that you’re getting better and stronger. That’s why I come back day after day.
What is your athletic background?
I’ve never really considered myself to be an athlete. I’m a dancer. I’ve been dancing on and off since I was 3.
Favorite WOD: Give me something with double unders or box jumps.
Favorite Lift/Movement: Squats (front/back/overhead) and Deadlifts
Least Favorite WOD: Anything with lots of running. We just did Helen not too long ago, and some crazy Chipper WOD with a buttload of running. It was awful. Thumbs down.
Least Favorite Lift/Movement: I really can’t think of a lift that I dislike. I really like lifting weights! However, I will say that if I never do a burpee again I won’t be mad.
What are your proudest achievements?
First PR ever was 175 lbs back squat. I was still pretty new so I didn’t even know what “PR” meant.
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?
I think I’m ready to start competing. Let’s start there and see what happens.
Any advice for someone thinking about trying CrossFit or someone who has just started
Stop thinking about it and just do it!!! If you do it right you’ll see the benefits, and then you will understand why this stuff is like crack.
