June Athlete Spotlight: Brie Pugh

Say hello to our June athlete to watch, Brie Pugh! She has been ultra consistent for over a year, despite some nagging injuries, and has found a new passion for lifting that she never knew she had. And we LOVE that!

How long have you been a member at Cave CrossFit?

16 Months

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?

Crossfit has re-focused my life! Not only has it motivated me and given me more structure, but it's tested my strength, highlighted my weaknesses, and above all boosted my confidence! Have I mentioned the booty gains?

What is your athletic background?

I played water polo and swam all through high school, fell into the pilates thing for a while, and FINALLY figured out I love lifting heavy weights!

Favorite WOD:

I love a good chipper!

Favorite Lift/Movement:

Deadlifts & Back squats

Least Favorite WOD:

That Thruster/Burpee combo...yikes

What are your proudest achievements?

100lb squat clean was a big one! Also finally getting 3+ toe to bar...still got a ways to go!

Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?

I REALLY need to work on double unders- I have no excuse at this point!

Any advice for someone thinking about trying CrossFit or someone who has just started?

Consistency is key! Get in there 3+ days a week. Pay attention to your form and don't push yourself too hard..injuries can creep up on ya!
