How long have you been a member at Cave CrossFit?
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
I started CrossFit almost 4 years ago after moving to a new city post college graduation. I was instantly hooked by this kick-ass work out which helped me fill the void of competitive sports in adult life. Since then, I’ve felt more capable, confident and strong in my body than ever before. CrossFit motivates me not only in the gym, but in other aspects of my life as well!
What is your athletic background?
All-state high school softball player turned collegiate rugby player.
Least Favorite WOD: Fran!
Least Favorite Lift/Movement: Thrusters
What are your proudest achievements?
After suffering an ankle injury in my senior rugby season and subsequently having surgery, I am proud of what my body can still do. Though I am frustrated at times by my limitations, I am proud of how far I have come. I remember when double-unders were my nemesis, now they’re one of my best movements!
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?
I hope to be able to sustain my current level of fitness for the next 20 years! And a muscle up.
Any advice for someone thinking about trying CrossFit or someone who has just started?
I try not to “preach” CrossFit to unwilling ears but it is truly the most effective, addictive, insane, awesome and rewarding type of workout there is!
