How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?

When I came to Cave CrossFit, I could not pick up my 5 month-old granddaughter, and the back pain I have lived with for 48 years was taking its toll. In fact, two orthopedic surgeons that saw my x-rays were surprised I was walking. Now I have resumed my normal activities, am stronger than I have ever been and am without pain. My lifestyle now centers around my workouts!

What is your athletic background?

I was athletic most of my life playing tennis and golf as my back would allow. Over the years, I have participated in every kind of exercise to rehabilitate my back but with no relief. I had given up trying anything else.

Favorite WOD: I particularly like the gymnastics and am working on inverting.

Favorite Lift/Movement: I am really into weight lifting and trying to perform the movements properly and increase the weight.

Least Favorite WOD: At this time, I enjoy the challenge of all the WOD’s, but find burpees to be my most difficult cardio movement.

Least Favorite Lift/Movement: Wall Balls, but the movements I like least are because I do not perform them well yet. As I am able to improve, I will enjoy them more.

What are your proudest achievements?

Being able to complete my first WOD, and every one since!

Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?

For me, it’s all about my back. Cave CrosFit has enabled me to live without pain and be able to resume normal activities. I need to improve my squat with a more upright torso since that movement is crucial to all other movements, especially those wall balls.
