Bao has been a fitness addict for as long as she can remember. In her youth, she played competitive tennis and did boxing on the side. Athletics have always been a part of her daily routine, and she still enjoys running, bouldering, hiking, and being outdoors. Bao found Crossfit in 2012 and loved the intensity, skill, and variation involved with the sport. She started competing in local competitions later that year, and successfully made the California regionals in 2015. She believes in constant progress and consistency and has placed top 5% of her region for the past 3 years in the Crossfit Open. As an athlete, she trains at least five times a week and consciously works on her strength and conditioning. Bao became a licensed coach in 2014 with a Level 1 Certification and will be continuing her education throughout the year. Her coaching is what she calls “simplified,” as she believes that a good understanding of fundamental technique will make the difference to those who enter the gym.
